Mike Reis is an author, speaker, and master-certified addiction recovery coach who firmly believes that it’s never too late to become the person God intended.
After becoming a Christian in 2005, Mike was eventually able to battle the cycle of his own alcoholism and other addictive behaviors, and today he lives a life dedicated to God, family, and serving others. He feels most called to help men live a purposeful life and to carry his message that being a good father, husband, and spiritual head of household is about much more than living for yourself, your income, or your possessions. He travels to churches, retreats, men’s groups, business organizations, and rehabilitation centers to share his own story of enlightenment and redemption.
Prior to coaching, Mike enjoyed a hugely successful career in executive sales with companies like Hallmark Cards, PepsiCo, and ConAgra Foods.
Mike graduated with honors from Georgia State University with a B.A. in liberal arts and business. He is a Certified Master and Professional Coach, and he is also certified in Recovery and Christian Life coaching, all from the World Coach Institute (WCI), where he is also an instructor. Mike is a member of the International Coach Federation (ICF), Georgia Coach Association (GCA), and Recovery Coaches International (RCI). He also holds a certificate of ordination from the National Association of Christian Ministers.
Mike is the proud father of six adult children and two grandchildren. His son is NFL Super Bowl XLIV champion and former New Orleans Saints safety Chris Reis, who became a part of football history when he recovered the onside kick at the beginning of the second half of the game, which is credited for altering the mood—and the course—of the entire game itself.
Mike and his wife, Celia, live in Cumming, Georgia, with their two golden retrievers, Buster and Bennie.
